General:

My mom & dad (Pam and Wayne) first entered me into judo to keep me out of trouble and relieve some built up energy.  Before they knew it, I was competing in local tournaments and winning making a name for myself. I knew at a very young age that I would eventually make the Olympic team to represent the United States, and I'm currently working toward that goal each and every day.

My love for sports reaches beyond the judo mat. In high school, I respresented my school on the wrestling mat as well, and quickly became one of the teams best players, implimenting my judo skills. I really liked wrestling and became pretty good at it, but judo was and still is my passion. I work my hardest every day to make my Olympic dream come true and won't stop until it's a reality. Judo has taken me so many places around the world that I wouldn't have been if I didn't compete in judo and I'm very grateful for that.

Currently, I've been chosen for the third consecutive year to represent the United States worldwide in the Elite U23 Program. Specifically for athletes under 23 years old, the Elite U23 Program is geared primarily toward the 2012 Olympics in London, England to achieve the United States' first Olympic Gold medal in Judo since it was introduced in 1964. I was so excited when I was asked to be a part of the Elite U23 Program as it's a select group of only 20 judokas nationwide. It was a huge honor and an exciting milestone in my judo career. My coach, Jimmy Pedro, is very well known in the judo community for being the most decorated judoka in the States and it has been an honor to have his guidance.
